Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2022, there were 2,360,419 hispanics or latinos (of all racial backgrounds) in Illinois and they represented 18.76% of the total population of Illinois in 2022.

Cook County had the highest number of hispanics or latinos (1,368,016), followed by Lake County (175,923), and Kane County (171,312). On the other hand, Scott County had the lowest number of hispanics or latinos (56), followed by Gallatin County (67), and Pope County (68).

When it comes to the ratio of hispanic to non-hispanic population, Kane County had the highest percentage (33.32%), followed by Cook County (26.76%), and Boone County (25.62%).
