Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 28,450 hispanics or latinos (of all racial backgrounds) in Maine and they represented 2.06% of the total population of Maine in 2021.

Cumberland County had the highest number of hispanics or latinos (8,267), followed by York County (4,413), and Penobscot County (2,917). On the other hand, Piscataquis County had the lowest number of hispanics or latinos (325), followed by Lincoln County (467), and Franklin County (470).

When it comes to the ratio of hispanic to non-hispanic population, Cumberland County had the highest percentage (2.7%), followed by Washington County (2.29%), and Kennebec County (2.16%).
