Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, there were 17,558 hispanics or latinos (of all racial backgrounds) in North Dakota and they represented 2.50% of the total population of North Dakota in 2012.

Cass County had the highest number of hispanics or latinos (3,349), followed by Ward County (2,632), and Grand Forks County (2,379). On the other hand, Griggs County had the lowest number of hispanics or latinos (8), followed by Grant County (10), and Billings County (11).

When it comes to the ratio of hispanic to non-hispanic population, Walsh County had the highest percentage (9.99%), followed by Mountrail County (4.68%), and Ward County (4.01%).
