According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2016, the net international migration for Massachusetts was 44,834. Middlesex County had the highest net international migration (13,271) followed by Suffolk County (10,711), and Essex County (4,950). On the other hand, Dukes County had the lowest net international migration (44), followed by Nantucket County (57), and Franklin County (168).

Net International migration for a given county refers to the difference between the number of people moving to the county from other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States (50 states and District of Columbia) and the number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the world outside the borders of the United States.
