HATS Category 111-Water and Feed Availability On August 31, 2021 at 0700 hours, while observing the livestock in holding pens 1 through 4 at Est. 13276, I observed 15 swine held in 2 holding pens (3/4). The hogs did not have adequate space to lie down nor did they have access to water. I had observed these animals after delivery to the establishment at start of day and at end of day 8-30-21. Verbal control was initiated, and management was informed of the situation. Slaughter was not allowed to begin, as per Circuit Supervisor REDACTED instruction on phone conversation. The pens the swine were in were opened and water was placed in water troughs at which time I observed the swine rush to drink water very rapidly showing signs of thirst. Regulatory control was relinquished once the animals had been given water. After speaking with management, REDACTED stated that “the ball had been dropped and someone had forgot to water the animals”. I then proceeded to verbally inform QA REDACTED that a noncompliance record would be issued.
