HATS category III – Water and feed Availability 9 CFR 313.2(e) At approximately 0645 hours on 2/14/2022 while I, CSI REDACTED, was performing a humane handling verification task for HATS category III at M45261 I observed the following noncompliance: There was not water available in the antemortem ally way . At the time of the noncompliance, the antemortem ally way contained 23 beef cattle. These cattle had been delivered to the plant on the previous day and were being presented for antemortem inspection. The plant employee who is responsible antemortem inspection, and plant manager REDACTED was notified that the cattle in the ally way had no water. This noncompliance fails to meet the regulatory requirements of 9 CFR 313.2(e). This noncompliance is not egregious.

HATS category III – Water and feed Availability 9 CFR 313.2(e) At approximately 0645 hours while I, CSI REDACTED, was performing a humane handling verification task for HATS category III at M45261 I observed the following noncompliance: The cattle water trough in pen 5 was observed to be empty of water. At the time of the noncompliance, pen 5 contained 41 beef cattle. These cattle had been delivered to the plant on the previous day and were being presented for antemortem inspection. The plant employee who is responsible for presenting animals for antemortem inspection was notified that the cattle in pen 5 had no water. It was observed that the water hose connected to this trough had been turned off. The plant employee immediately filled the water trough. This noncompliance fails to meet the regulatory requirements of 9 CFR 313.2(e). This noncompliance is not egregious.

HATS category III – Water and feed Availability 9 CFR 313.2(e) At approximately 0630 hours while I, CSI REDACTED, was performing a humane handling verification task for HATS category III at M45261 I observed the following noncompliance: The shared cattle water trough between pens 3 and 4 was observed to be empty of water. At the time of the noncompliance, both pens 3 and 4 contained beef cattle. These cattle had been delivered to the plant on the previous day and were being presented for antemortem inspection. The plant employee who is responsible for presenting animals for antemortem inspection was notified that the cattle in pens 3 and 4 had no water. It was observed that the automatic watering device was not functioning. The plant employee immediately filled the water trough. General Manager REDACTED was also notified of this noncompliance. He then contacted maintenance to address the defective water trough. This noncompliance fails to meet the regulatory requirements of 9 CFR 313.2(e). This noncompliance is not egregious. This document serves as written notification that your failure to comply with regulatory requirement(s) could result in additional regulatory or administrative action.
