Non-Compliance Description:

On 05/17/2023 at 0703 hours, while performing Ante-mortem inspection, I, (CSI), Consumer Safety Inspector REDACTED observed the following noncompliance in the holding pen area: · The pen containing one swine did not have access to water. A container was observed in the pen however, it was overturned over on its side. · The pen containing one beef cow did not have access to water. A container was observed in the pen however, it was overturned over on its side. I immediately notified multiple establishment plant personnel as the Plant Manager Mr. REDACTED wasn’t in the area or his office. Plant personnel informed me that Mr. REDACTED was notified of my findings in the holding pens. At 0758 hours, Live Receiving/Slaughter Floor Manager Mr. REDACTED provided both animal’s water. It is undetermined why the establishment did not provide both animals water in a timelier manner. I, CSI REDACTED, monitored all pens throughout the day that contained animals and was found to be acceptable.
