On Monday, March 27, 2023 at approximately 7:05am while conducting Ante-mortem Humane Handling inspections the following noncompliance was observed by CSI REDACTED. HATS Category: Handling during Ante-Mortem Inspections There are two (2) holes in the wood that is attached to the big holding pen on the North side of the pen facing the alley. The holes are approximately 10 inches by 10 inches and are a little bit higher than waist high. The holes are big enough to where a beef could fit it’s nose through them, but not it’s entire head. CSI REDACTED observed 4 swine in the pen at the time of inspection. No animals were observed sticking any body parts through the holes; therefore, no animals were harmed at the time of ante-mortem inspections. CSI REDACTED verbally informed the establishment owner/manager, REDACTED of the non-compliance. Mr. REDACTED verbally informed CSI REDACTED that he will be getting some wood to repair the holes as soon as possible.
