Approximately 08:05am I CSI/IIC REDACTED was the kill performing Livestock Humane Handling at the stunning area-knocking-box, at the time they had a Bob veal standing there, an another one was on the floor that was in a resting position. I at that time they had Bob veal there was one on the floor that was in a resting position. I then asked REDACTED if the bob veal stand on his own (Ante-Mortem all where in moving positions) at that moment an employee went over and lifted his booted-foot and kicked the bob veal, I then stopped the kill floor. This does not comply to the regulation of 9CFR 313.2 (a) “Driving of livestock from the unloading of ramps to the holding pens and from the holding pens to the stunning area shall be done with a minimum of excitement and discomfort to the animals. Livestock shall not be forced to move faster than a normal walking speed”. 9CFR 313.15 (a) (2) “The driving of the animals to the stunning area shall be done with a minimum of excitement and discomfort to the animals. Delivery of calm animals to the stunning areas is essential since accurate placement of stunning equipment is difficult on the nervous or injured animals. Among other things, this requires that, in driving animals to the stunning areas, electrical equipment be used as little as possible and with the lowest effective voltage.” I verbally informed Mr. REDACTED (QC Manager) of the noncompliance.
