HATS Category VIII – Stunning Effectiveness On April 3, 2024, at approximately 0857 hours, while performing the Humane Handling Task, CSI REDACTED and I, REDACTED, observed an incident in which a single shot delivered to a hog by establishment supervisor Mr. REDACTED, with a 38 special pistol, was ineffective, as the hog vocalized and remained alert and standing. Mr. REDACTED delivered an immediate and effective corrective action 2nd stun using the same pistol rendering the animal insensible. It remained so thereafter. The stun box was rejected using US Retain/Reject tag #B37063872. Mr. REDACTED and Mr. REDACTED were notified of the non-compliance and of the regulatory control action.
