Non-Compliance Description:

HATS Category VIII: Stunning Effectiveness At approximately 11:05am on 2/13/24 at Trackside #45607, I CSI REDACTED observed establishment employees restrained one Ram(lamb) to be knocked with the handheld captive bolt device (HHCB). I observed two successive attempts to stun the animal that were observed to contact the animal but were ineffective, as the animal remained standing. The establishment manager, Mr. REDACTED was immediately alerted, entered the slaughter floor and retrieved the backup .22 caliber rifle, and delivered an immediate and effective corrective action stun, which rendered the animal insensible, and it remained so thereafter. I notified Mr. REDACTED of the non-compliance with 9 CFR 313.15(a)(1) and 9 CFR 313.15(a)(3) and the Knock Box was tagged with US Rejected Tag #B37575151.
