Non-Compliance Description:

On January 22, 2025, at approximately 0535 hours, while performing a routine Livestock Humane Handling Task and verifying HATS category III “Water and Feed Availability”, I observed the following noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e): I observed cattle in holding Pens # 8, 9, 21, and 22 that did not have access to water with the associated pen water troughs being empty, Also, I observed holding pen #19 associated water trough with water that was frozen, therefore not able to be accessed by cattle. There were approximately 20 or more cattle in each of the aforementioned holding pens at the time of my observations. I took immediate action by informing barn Supervisor REDACTED of my findings, the establishment took the immediate action of moving the affected cattle to pens with access to water and filing the water troughs. Pen Manager REDACTED was notified of my observations and of this forthcoming noncompliance record. No regulatory control action was taken due to the observed immediate and effective corrective actions taken by the establishment. A review of the establishment noncompliance history failed to reveal a similar noncompliance record documented in the past 90 days.
