On 6/11/25, while performing a routine Humane Handling task, the following noncompliance was observed. At approximately 0915, I observed sharp ended wire protruding in to the alleyway where animals are driven. 2 sharp ends of the wire were pointed inward approximately 3-3.5 inches in length for each end. I also observed part of one of the gates that was broken pointing in to the alley way approximately 6-7 inches in length as well. I notified the employee working in the barn, who bent the edges out immediately fixed the protruding wire. I notified establishment Owner Mr. REDACTED and QA Supervisor REDACTED of the noncompliance and the establishments failure to comply with 9 CFR 313.1. Mr. REDACTED stated that he would talk to the employees in the barn about monitoring the alleyway for any areas that could cause harm to the animals.

On 5/22/25, while performing a routine Livestock Humane Handling Task, the following noncompliance was observed. I notified establishment President REDACTED of the establishment’s noncompliance and failure to comply with 9 CFR 313.2(e). On 4/16/25, While conducting a Humane Handling task, an instance of noncompliance was observed. At approximately, 1230, upon walking outside, I observed the driveway with multiple sharp edges from the gates pointed inward in a fashion that could cause harm to the animals. I also observed multiple spots in the alley way where loose wires were protruding inward that could cause harm to the animals. Additionally, there was plywood laid down on the ground being used to walk the animals that had a hole approximately 6 inches in diameter. The plywood also did not cover the width of the alley way, which created a drop of approximately 3 inches which could potentially cause the animal to slip and cause injury. Plant Manager REDACTED was notified of the establishment’s non-compliance and failure to comply with 9 CFR 313.1. At approximately 15:30, CSI REDACTED verified that the driveway was restored, sharp edges removed, and plywood replaced. The establishment corrective action was to ensure that there is proper maintenance of this driveway with increased frequency.

There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down.” Mr. REDACTED informed me that he was going to speak with the employee in the barn and that going forward they would ensure that each pen holding animals will have water in them.
