HATS Category IV: Antemortem On June 25, 2025, at Moonlight Meat Processing, Est. #33845, at 9:00am, I CSI REDACTED inspected the pen areas and found that there were some issues with areas. I tagged pens #3, #4 and chute alleyway with tags # B-42200614, B-42200613 and B-45026688. Pen # 3 has a door that is warped and sticks out into the alleyway to the chute, and then inside the pen area that has sharp areas on the top bar and bottom bar that could cut the animals in the pen and in the chute alleyway. Pen # 4 has wires that are bent and sticking out, that are jagged, in pen that could cause harm to the animals in pen area, the door has wires sticking out on the top of the door that are sharp on the inside of the door that could cause harm to the animals. Outside of pen #4 has wires sticking out into the alleyway, to chute that are sharp and could cause harm to animals. All has been addressed with the owner of the establishment, REDACTED. REDACTED, slaughter/shooter, was shown the issues and what was wrong. REDACTED was notified of the non-compliance and the issues.

HATS Category III: Water and Feed Availability On February 12, 2025, at Moonlight Meat Processing, Est. #33845, while performing the Livestock Humane Handling Verification Task, I, CSI REDACTED, and DVMO Dr. REDACTED observed the following: Pen #4 contained 10 market swine, which had been delivered the afternoon before. There was no observed water container in the holding pen with the hogs. I informed REDACTED, stun operator, of my observations and the forthcoming documentation of the non-compliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e). Mr. REDACTED promptly had a container placed in the pen and made water available to the animals.
