According to the World Bank's population estimates, there were 950,311,646 people living on the African continent in 2006. The chart and table below shows the population estimate for each African country based on data from the World Bank.
Nigeria was the most populated country (144,329,764), followed by Egypt (80,629,670), and then Ethiopia (79,691,050). Seychelles was the least populated country with a population of 84,600.
