According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2002 Q2 was $687. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,095), followed by Connecticut ($851), and Massachusetts ($836).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($491), followed by North Dakota ($499), and Montana ($502).
