According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2004 Q3 was $732. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,210), followed by Connecticut ($917), and Massachusetts ($906).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest average weekly wage ($524), followed by South Dakota ($538), and Mississippi ($541).
