According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2006 Q3 was $784. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,307), followed by Connecticut ($958), and New York ($951).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($571), followed by Montana ($581), and Mississippi ($585).
