According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2007 Q4 was $898. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,494), followed by New York ($1,153), and Connecticut ($1,150).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($647), followed by Mississippi ($654), and Montana ($659).
