According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2009 Q2 was $840. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,425), followed by Connecticut ($1,034), and Massachusetts ($1,028).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($614), followed by Idaho ($632), and Montana ($636).
