According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2009 Q4 was $943. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,616), followed by New York ($1,194), and Connecticut ($1,193).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($688), followed by Montana ($696), and Mississippi ($697).
