According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2011 Q1 was $934. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,541), followed by New York ($1,368), and Connecticut ($1,281).

On the other hand, Mississippi had the lowest average weekly wage ($649), followed by Montana ($655), and South Dakota ($659).
