According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2011 Q4 was $955. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,666), followed by New York ($1,197), and Massachusetts ($1,191).

On the other hand, Mississippi had the lowest average weekly wage ($698), followed by Idaho ($717), and South Dakota ($724).
