According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2012 Q1 was $983. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,605), followed by New York ($1,357), and Connecticut ($1,325).

On the other hand, Mississippi had the lowest average weekly wage ($688), followed by Idaho ($691), and South Dakota ($703).
