Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2010, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,222,435 and represented 20.22% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (471.59K), followed by Davidson (164.46K), and Hamilton (65.69K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (53.30%), followed by Haywood (51.14%), and Hardeman (41.08%).
