Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2011, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for South Carolina was 1,234,325 and represented 27.89% of the total South Carolina citizen population.

Among all South Carolina counties, Richland had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (170.97K), followed by Charleston (103.96K), and Greenville (78.79K).
