Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2023, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for South Carolina was 1,311,185 and represented 25.97% of the total South Carolina citizen population.

Among all South Carolina counties, Richland had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (195.95K), followed by Charleston (97.18K), and Greenville (88.55K).
