Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the citizen population for New Mexico was 1,921,160 and represented 93.47% of the total New Mexico population.

Among all New Mexico counties, Bernalillo had the highest citizen population (613.65K), followed by Do�a Ana (185.26K), and Santa Fe (129.52K).

In terms of percentages, Catron had the highest percentage of its population being citizens (99.59%), followed by Quay (99.44%), and McKinley (98.39%).
