Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2012, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for South Carolina was 1,245,335 and represented 27.79% of the total South Carolina citizen population.

Among all South Carolina counties, Richland had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (173.84K), followed by Charleston (103.91K), and Greenville (80.25K).
