Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2014, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,259,335 and represented 20.13% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (485.91K), followed by Davidson (174.27K), and Hamilton (67.63K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (54.08%), followed by Haywood (49.78%), and Hardeman (41.45%).
