Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2015, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,266,075 and represented 20.10% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (488.35K), followed by Davidson (176.60K), and Hamilton (67.69K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (54.33%), followed by Haywood (49.41%), and Hardeman (42.01%).
