Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2017, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for South Carolina was 1,276,885 and represented 26.87% of the total South Carolina citizen population.

Among all South Carolina counties, Richland had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (186.11K), followed by Charleston (106.69K), and Greenville (87.84K).

In terms of percentages, Allendale had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (73.80%), followed by Williamsburg (65.55%), and Lee (62.71%).
