Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2018, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,281,810 and represented 19.90% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (496.30K), followed by Davidson (182.03K), and Hamilton (68.02K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (55.31%), followed by Haywood (51.01%), and Hardeman (41.74%).
