Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2019, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Iowa was 1,287,245 and represented 42.35% of the total Iowa citizen population.

Among all Iowa counties, Polk had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (27.79K), followed by Scott (12.43K), and Black Hawk (11.37K).

In terms of percentages, Black Hawk had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (8.92%), followed by Scott (7.37%), and Jefferson (6.85%).
