Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2019, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for Tennessee was 1,287,245 and represented 19.81% of the total Tennessee citizen population.

Among all Tennessee counties, Shelby had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (497.16K), followed by Davidson (181.44K), and Hamilton (68.15K).

In terms of percentages, Shelby had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (55.39%), followed by Haywood (51.87%), and Hardeman (41.98%).
