Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2023, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for North Carolina was 1,311,185 and represented 13.05% of the total North Carolina citizen population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (334.95K), followed by Wake (213.83K), and Guilford (177.58K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (60.97%), followed by Hertford (57.98%), and Edgecombe (57.19%).
