Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2021, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for North Carolina was 1,315,935 and represented 13.33% of the total North Carolina citizen population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (332.52K), followed by Wake (210.65K), and Guilford (178.34K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (61.07%), followed by Hertford (59.71%), and Edgecombe (57.76%).
