Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2020, the Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population for North Carolina was 1,290,900 and represented 13.05% of the total North Carolina citizen population.

Among all North Carolina counties, Mecklenburg had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (330.80K), followed by Wake (208.27K), and Guilford (176.87K).

In terms of percentages, Bertie had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (61.42%), followed by Hertford (60.92%), and Edgecombe (58.28%).
