According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the number of deaths for Vermont was 5,459. Chittenden County had the highest number of deaths (1,026), followed by Rutland County (645), and Windsor County (566). On the other hand, Essex County had the lowest number of deaths (55), followed by Grand Isle County (64), and Lamoille County (176).
