Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, there were 39,007 hispanics or latinos (of all racial backgrounds) in South Dakota and they represented 4.39% of the total population of South Dakota in 2020.

Minnehaha County had the highest number of hispanics or latinos (12,041), followed by Pennington County (5,679), and Beadle County (2,738). On the other hand, Buffalo County had the lowest number of hispanics or latinos (10), followed by Jones County (13), and Stanley County (17).

When it comes to the ratio of hispanic to non-hispanic population, Beadle County had the highest percentage (14.29%), followed by Aurora County (7.72%), and Grant County (6.34%).
