Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 41,031 hispanics or latinos (of all racial backgrounds) in South Dakota and they represented 4.58% of the total population of South Dakota in 2021.

Minnehaha County had the highest number of hispanics or latinos (12,505), followed by Pennington County (6,061), and Beadle County (2,801). On the other hand, Jones County had the lowest number of hispanics or latinos (15), followed by Buffalo County (16), and Hyde County (21).

When it comes to the ratio of hispanic to non-hispanic population, Beadle County had the highest percentage (14.6%), followed by Aurora County (7.86%), and Grant County (6.66%).
