Alaska Net Domestic Migration Rate By County in 2011

According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the net domestic migration rate for Alaska was -1.24. Bristol Bay Borough had the highest net domestic migration rate (20.68) followed by Prince of Wales-Hyder Borough (20.18), and Haines Borough (18.13). On the other hand, Skagway Borough had the lowest net domestic migration rate (-21.77), followed by Yakutat City and Borough (-21.23), and Hoonah-Angoon Borough (-17.71).

Net Domestic migration rate for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) per 1,000 of the mid-year population of the county.
