Alaska Net Domestic Migration Rate By County in 2012

According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the net domestic migration rate for Alaska was -1.82. Skagway Borough had the highest net domestic migration rate (30.63) followed by Matanuska-Susitna Borough (11.65), and Hoonah-Angoon Borough (9.56). On the other hand, Bristol Bay Borough had the lowest net domestic migration rate (-51.77), followed by Northwest Arctic Borough (-16.73), and Lake and Peninsula Borough (-16.35).

Net Domestic migration rate for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) per 1,000 of the mid-year population of the county.
