According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2019, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for the United States was 1.74. Idaho had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (16.51), followed by Nevada (16.23), and Arizona (14.86). On the other hand, Alaska had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-11.05), followed by Hawaii (-8.23), and New York (-7.28).

Net migration rate for a state refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the state and those leaving the state per 1,000 of the state's mid-year population.
