Race: The White Alone population was the largest racial group in Virginia, with a population of 5,779,376 (71.33%). Black or African American Alone population was the second largest racial group in Virginia, with a population of 1,595,580 (19.69%). Asian Alone population was the third largest racial group in Virginia, with a population of 469,479 (5.79%).

Ethnicity: The White Alone - Non Hispanic population was the largest ethnic group in Virginia, with a population of 5,228,096 (64.53%).
