Non-Compliance Description:

9CFR309.3(e) and 9CFR309.13 At approximately 1030 hours, 3rd of August 2021, I, Relief SPHV REDACTED observed the following while performing humane handling task: A cattle with fresh blood on it’s frontal bone area, tongue hanging out, legs paddling is being dragged out of the snake run right before the knock box and hauled by a front loader. The ante mortem inspector was in the catwalk above the holding pens during that time but he said he is not notified about the condition of the aforementioned animal. I just came out of the slaughter floor and I was neither notified of the condition of the aforementioned animal. The carcass is disposed of without the presence or knowledge of an inspector. Livestock Manager REDACTED is verbally notified of the forthcoming non-compliance report. This is a non-compliance of 9CFR309.3(e) which requires establishment personnel notification of FSIS inspection personnel when cattle become non-ambulatory disabled after passing ante-mortem inspection. Non-ambulatory disabled cattle that are offered for slaughter must be condemned and promptly disposed of in accordance with 9CFR309.13.
