HATS Category IV - Ante-mortem Inspection At approximately 1040, while performing a humane handling task, the following was observed: Metal panels are welded to the framed sides in many areas of the pens. In pen 6, two corner welds have come apart, leaving the corner of two panels sticking out. The corners are sticking out approximately 1/2 an inch and are very sharp. Another panel in the middle of pen 6, has rusted on the bottom creating a sharp edge that is bent outward. The gate on pen 6 is also broken on the bottom corner and has a sharp edge. These areas are not maintained in good repair and could lead to animal injury. U.S. reject tag # B45626589 was applied to pen 6 and Mr. REDACTED, QC, was immediately notified of non-compliance with 313.1(a).
