HATS Category IV - Ante-mortem Inspection At approximately 1245, while performing a livestock humane handling task, the following was observed: Metal panels are welded to the framed sides in many areas of the pens. In pen 5, the bottom corner of the pen, nearest to the chute, has areas that are rusted. A piece of the rusted panel has broken and metal is sticking out towards the inside of the pen. The piece is approximately 2 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches in size and approximately 1 foot up from the ground. This area is not being maintained in good repair and could lead to animal injury. U.S. reject tag # B45626733 was applied to pen 5 and Mr. REDACTED, manager, was immediately notified of non-compliance with 9 CFR 313.1(a).
