According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2002 Q1 was $718. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,104), followed by New York ($994), and Connecticut ($955).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest average weekly wage ($479), followed by South Dakota ($498), and North Dakota ($500).
