According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2002 Q4 was $740. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,192), followed by Connecticut ($956), and New Jersey ($914).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest average weekly wage ($528), followed by South Dakota ($537), and Mississippi ($539).
